Notebook prices hit some amazing lows during 2005, and we saw some great-value models from the likes of Acer and Optima. However, of those models still available, we couldn't go past Twinhead's efio! 12KT for the best combination of power, portability and price. A compact model weighing just 2kg and with a 12.1in screen, the 12KT packs a Mobile AMD Sempron 2600+ Processor, 512MB of memory, 60GB hard drive and double-layer DVD burner. Battery life was only reasonable in our test, but performance was quite good and for under $1,500, the 12KT is outstanding value.
