Most notebooks available in the market are only designed to work in an ideal computing environment with clean, dry, hazard-free conditions. However, in a real world, populated by on-thego travellers, hyperactive kids, busy waiters, airport security screeners and careless baggage handlers, we do not always have control over the operating condition of the notebook. The notebooks often need to be rugged and tough enough to get the job done at rough-andtumble work sites, such as active factory floors, less-than-safe laboratories, busy airport lounges, beaches, pool-side, restaurants or coffee shops.

Designed and made for these rough-and-tumble environments, all DURABOOK series notebooks are certified for spill proof from liquid, as well as, shock and drop resistance. The
R15D offers three unique features, (1) drop & vibratrion proof, (2) Spill-Proof and (3) patented optical drive lock.

(1) Drop & Vibrations Proof:
This new range of notebooks comes with an alloy base casing that is 20-times-harder than normal plastic casing. In addition they are equipped with anti-shock mounting mechanism that better protects both LCD screen and hard drive from damages and data loss due to impact or vibration. Fully tested and awarded with the US Military Standard 810F, it gives ultimate protection to a notebook.

(2) Spill Proof:
The notebook is designed with spill-proof keyboard, touchpad and scroll buttons. Certified by
the European Committee for ETS, it is proven to be effective in keeping liquid spills away from
internal components.

(3) Patented Optical Drive Lock:
Twinhead's patented optical drive lock protects the R15D's optical drive and disks from accidental spring out due to vibration, thus further reduce the chances of damage to the optical drive.

Powered by the new generation Intel® 915GM chipset and Intel® Pentium® M Dothan
processor with fast FSB 533MHz, the Durabook R15D is ready to accommodate up to two
gigabytes of fast memory and a serial advanced technology architecture (SATA) Hard Disk
drives that could deliver a disk traffic transfer rate of up to 150MB per second (optional). It
brings new flexibility and performance to the mobile computing experience, delivering
maximum productivity with minimum power consumption.

The DURABOOK R15D further combines a bright 15-inch TFT LCD screen display
and an Intel® GMA 900 integrated in Core Logic Chip with an extended 9-cell Lithium Ion
Smart Battery pack (optional). It allows a frequent commuter up to 5 hours of uninterrupted
wireless internet access without compromising on the enjoyment of stunning
graphic display while on the move.
