  Why does my DVD-ROM stops video during play back?

  It is because your notebook has power management enabled. You must disable all power management including CMOS power management under Power, Windows 98 Power Management under Control Panel, and Screen Saver under Display of Control Panel. Now your DVD-ROM can run free of interference.
